Welcome to my world of floral design. A place that I would never have imagined myself in when I first thought of a career. I often tell people that “flowers found me”. I have an extensive background in art and design, from studying fine arts in college to working alongside other artists. I worked in the fashion industry in London for many years before embarking on my career as a floral designer, and always had a passion and appreciation for flowers.

The story behind my story is as creative as my work. I began selling pre-made silk flowers in a direct sales capacity through home shows. It was then that I was introduced to a woman who shared the same passion for flowers, and we started designing for weddings on a part-time basis. It gave me a great creative outlet and a little something for me as I was a stay at home mother of two for 20 years. Little did I know, at that time, that in my mid 40’s I would be starting a business full time after a few life altering events.

My son inspired and motivated me to take a leap of faith and branch out on my own. I did, and I haven’t looked back since. They say that doing what you love is the best job there is. I feel very lucky to do what I love and to share my passion and enthusiasm with my clients. I am very grateful for the gift of creativity and the team of people that work with me to create beauty. It has given me the tools to become independent and to truly find strength through adversity. It has been a soulful journey that I would not change in a million years.

It is funny how experience in life can lead you to new passions but still encompass all of what makes us who we are and what we do. From fashion to florals, I have had the opportunity to work as an editorial set and home interior designer in addition to home staging. It's another side of Sarena Floral Designs that I am working on. Stay tuned….

I truly love working with flowers and have quite a zealous appreciation for the draping and layering qualities of greenery. Aside from each stem having its own personality, let’s not forget about the smells! Nature loving, detail oriented, and artistically inspired. This is my flower world, and I love it!
